What is Dyneema Rope SK75?
Dyneema Rope SK75 is a high-performance rope renowned for its exceptional strength and durability. The SK75 fiber is one of the strongest synthetic fibers globally, offering an extremely high breaking load while remaining lightweight. With a diameter of 16 mm, this rope is ideal for demanding maritime applications such as sailing and yachting as well as industrial use. Its minimal stretch ensures stability and reliability even under heavy loads.
Technical Features and Benefits
The Dyneema SK75 rope stands out with its impressive breaking load and excellent abrasion resistance. It is UV-resistant, water-repellent, and chemical-resistant, making it durable even under extreme conditions. The core is made of braided Dyneema SK75, while the sheath provides additional protection and grip. This combination makes the rope versatile and particularly safe to handle.
Applications
This rope is the top choice for sailors with the highest demands on their equipment. It is perfect for sheets, halyards, or control lines on yachts and boats. Additionally, it is used in industries such as lifting systems or as a replacement for steel cables. Its flexibility and lightweight design make it easy to splice and handle.
Why Choose Dyneema SK75?

Here an example:
A steel wire rope with 24mm diameter, a length of 25 metres and a weight of approx. 50kg being used for recovering a tractor sunk on swampy ground can replaced by a Dyneema rope with 20mm diameter and a weight of 5,5kg only. Contrary to a steel wire rope a Dyneema rope can easily be stowed on the tractor.
Splicing:
On request we can supply these ropes with soft eye splices or splices with stainless steel thimbles or steel pipe thimbles. Please keep in mind that all splices, no matter whether with steel wire or fibre ropes, will weaken the breaking strength by some 10 - 20%. Dyneema ropes should not be loaded with more than 20 % of their breaking load and should not be knotted or used with wire rope clips.
