Knotted nylon netting of twisted twine has a good elasticity and a high breaking strength in relation to the diameter. Nylon does not float in water. Because of it's thin diameter this material has a relatively low towing resistance. Because of these characteristics knotted nylon netting is widely used by coastal and fresh water fishermen for fykes, fyke leaders, stow nets, beach seines, fish cages, trawls, barrier nets etc. This netting is stretched and at the same time carefully heat treated to ensure exact mesh sizes and tight knots. Knotted netting sections can be joined or repaired in the traditional way without problems. Skilled fishermen can construct and mount fishing gear according to their experience and particular needs.

If required this netting can be cut to square mesh shape. Diagonal joining seams would have to be accepted.
